Research Areas and Interests
In order to tackle the challenging problems in contemporary chemistry, our group is going to conduct interdisciplinary research by merging the principles of organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and polymer chemistry. Particularly, we focus on Free Radicals, a class of chemical species with open-shell electronic structures. Through the specific recognition and controlled assembly in radical systems, we aim to modulate the activity of radical species in a rational manner, thereby facilitating the development of highly efficient radical reactions and the construction of radical materials.
At the early stage, the research interests of our group include: (1) chemo- and stereo-selective radical reactions by the strategic use of noncovalent bonding interactions, (2) new methods for controlled radical polymerization based on radical-specific recognition and (3) precise assembly of supramolecular radical systems catalyzed by elementary particles such as electrons and protons.
