Wgroup member: Linfeng Xie

Graduate student ()

Visiting Professor: Linfeng Xie

University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2002.7-2002.12)

Email: xie@uwosh.edu

Current position: University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh

Linfeng stayed in our group for five months. He did several exploration work during this short stay: (A) Investigation of a-diazo carbonyl compounds for possible new reactions (boron trifluoride promoted nucleophilic addition; transition metal-catalyzed reaction of diazo compounds with BuLi; investigation of nucleophilic addition of alkyllithium cuprate and enolate to diazo carbonyl compounds); (B) Study of copper carbene formation via isocyanide-metal complex (synthesis of isocyanide-Cu(I) complexes and characterization; recrystallization of the isocyanide-complexed Cu(I)-2,6-diCl; reaction of the isocyanide-complexed Cu(I)-Testing for carbene formation); (C) Computational studies on transition metal catalyzed 1,2-migration of a-diazo carbonyl compounds. One thing we should mention is that Linfeng taught us how to make home page. That is why you can now know our group through Internet. Linfeng has one publication with our group.
